Ibagun Ward Counts Blessings, Hails Gov. AbdulRazaq, As Work Commences On Dada Modern Pottery

The people of Ibagun Ward in Ilorin East local government area of Kwara State, on Monday hailed the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over the commencement of work at Dada Modern Pottery.

The Dada Modern Pottery is sited on Sobi Specialist Hospital road, Alagbado, Okelele, Ilorin.

The people of the community led by the Alangua Ibagun, Malam Zakariyau Ilufemiloye, senior adviser/counselor, Alh Saadu Salahu, senior special assistant on Security, Alh Muyideen Aliyu and the representatives of Ibagun Progressive Union ( IPU) led by the co- chairman, Alh Isiaka Temim, received the government’s delegation led by the commissioner for Business Innovation and Technology, Mrs Damilola Yusuf- Adelodun to the site of the project with enthusiasm and lots of excitement.

In his remarks, the senior adviser/ counselor, Alh Saadu Salahu said Ibagun Ward had never had so good in projects allotments as its having it under Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration.

He enumerated some of the road and infrastructural projects that had been executed in the area by the AbdulRazaq’s administration in the last five years.

He recalled how the AbdulRazaq administration revived the economy of Ibagun/ Okelele community through the reconstruction of Jagun- Alagbado road, GDSS Amule – Samsudeen road, Kankatu- Samsudeen road and Dada- Alawo road.

Salahu cited the Primary Healthcare Centre, Dada and the ongoing Dada Modern Pottery as two of the infrastructural projects that the AbdulRazaq’s administration executed in Ibagun Ward.

He thanked the governor for according Ibagun Ward top priority in projects allocation as well as the appointment of sons and daughters of the area into positions of authority in the state.

The Alangua Ibagun, Alh Sakariyau Ilufemiloye, also praised the governor for his interest in the development of Ibagun Ward, assuring him of the continued support of the people of the area.

The co- chairman of IPU, Alh Isiaka Temim said the people of the area were appreciative of the numerous projects that the AbdulRazaq’s administration had executed and still executing in Ibagun Ward.

Temim poured enconmiums on the senior adviser/ counselor, Alh Saadu Salahu for being a worthy son of Ibagun and good ambassador of the community in government.

For her party, the vice chairperson of Ilorin East local government, Hajia Nafisat AbdulRaheem, thanked the governor for his kind gesture.

Also, the leader of the potters, Alhaja Raliat Saka, who said Governor AbdulRazaq had visited them at Dada Pottery three times, added that no past civilian governor in the state had deemed it fit to pay such visit to the Pottery.

She thanked the governor for his interest in women’s emancipation and empowerment, promising a judicious utilization of the project upon completion.

The commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf- Adelodun, alongside other dignitaries present at the event officially handed over the site for the construction of Dada Modern Pottery to the representative of a contracting firm, Clay of Lagos.

The commissioner said that the innovative project is aimed at enhancing clay pot production, providing a conducive environment for artisans to thrive, adding that the project is expected to create jobs, and promote cultural tourism in the state.

She added that the modern pottery will also provide opportunities for artisans to access new markets and customers as well as enhance clay pot production, while reiterating that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration is dedicated to empowering local communities and preserving their cultural heritage.

The contractor from Clay of Lagos, Mal. Idris Olabode, thanked the state government for giving his firm the opportunity to take up the task and promised to deliver the project at the stipulated time frame of six months.

Dignitaries present at the event included the special adviser on Special Duties, Alh AbdulRahman Jiddah, the vice chairperson of Ilorin East local government, Hajia Nafisat AbdulRaheem, an APC stalwart, Alh AbdulRahman Giwa, senior special assistant on Security, Alh Muyideen Aliyu and regional editor of LEADERSHIP newspapers, Alh Abdullahi Olesin, amongst others.
