ICPC Seizez Abuja House of Ex-LMC Chairman, Sheu Dikko

Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has seized permanently the Abuja house of former NFF Vice President Shehu Dikko for corruption.

Anti-corruption agency ICPC said the value of the property in question is far in excess of past and present earnings of the former LMC Chairman.

In an advertorial taken by ICPC in two national newspapers, The Punch and The Daily Trust yesterday, Thursday, October 6 the anti-corruption agency announced the seizure of the property on No 1 River Benue Street, Maitama, Abuja.

The advertorial signed by the ICPC Chairman Bolaji Owasonoye (SAN) read thus: “Whereas the Commission is investigating a matter involving Mr Shehu Dikko of No 1 River Benu Street, Maitama, Abuja wherein immovable property owned by the said Mr. Shehu Dikko is in issue.

“Whereas, the Commission is of the opinion based on the aforementioned investigation that this immovable property owned by Mr Shehu Dikko is excessive having regard to his present and past enoluments and all toher circumstances.

“The Commission hereby notifies the entire public that:

“The immovable property owned, controlled and managed by Mr Shehu Dikko either by himself and/or through his Attorney, Agents and Proxies listed hereunder is seized.”

The advertorial added that the notice has been served on the Land Registry in Abuja, FCT.

In September 2019, the ICPC secured interim forfeiture of a dozen properties belonging to these officials after it had stepped up its investigations into corruption allegations leveled against several top officials led by former NFF Preisdent Amaju Pinnick.

Other accused officials are former Vice President Seyi Akinwunmi, Executive Committee Member Ahmed Yusuf ‘Fresh’ and NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi
