The new Customs Area Comptroller, Kahinde Dehinde Ilesanmi on Friday assumed duty in Kwara state zonal command.
Kahinde took over from Hussaini Jallo who was in an acting capacity.
The new comptroller urged operatives of the command to keep up their anti-smuggling operations adding that the command under his leadership would continue to act tough against smugglers to get them arrested and seize their illicit goods.
He assured the officers that he would work assiduously towards consolidating the feat attained by his predecessor, disclosing that, with the ongoing border drill exercise, the task to secure the land border effectively remains his utmost priority.
The new Customs Area Comptroller solicited their support and cooperation to effectively manage the affairs of the command and tackle trans-border crimes.
He also sought the support of other agencies and stakeholders Ilesanmi thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Hameed Ali and the management team for the appointment, with a pledge to work in line with the service rules.
