A traditional leader in Ilorin community, Alhaji Aliyu Adebayo has donated a large expanse of land for the expansion of Alagbado/ Okelele police post in Ilorin East local government area of Kwara State.
This donation came as a result of desirous of some community leaders to upgrade the police post in Alagbado/Okelele axis to a full fledged police division, given the growing population of the area and the attendant security challenges.
Inspecting the facilities on Monday, The Alangua Ibagun, Alh Sakariyau Iyanda , a delegation of Ibagun Progressive Union (IPU) led by its chairman, Alh Kuranga Morogun; the Special Adviser on Strategy to Kwara State governor, Alh Saadu Salahu and Senior Special Assistant on Security, Alh Muyideen Aliyu were at the Alagbado police post to brainstorm on how to go about making the project reality.
The visiting community leaders were received by the officer in charge of the police post, Mrs Teniola Adedare.
Meeting the officer in charge of the station, The Alangua Ibagun announced the donation of the parcel of land for the police post by the Balogun Gambari and further thanked, Balogun for his kind gesture.
On their parts, the two governor’s aides, Salahu and Aliyu briefed the people about Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’a efforts at ensuring security of lives and property across the state.
They enjoined members of the community to contribute their quotas in cash and kind towards the upgrading of the police post, adding that security is the business of all .
The Balogun Gambari, Alh Aliyu Adebayo praised Governor AbdulRazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Alh Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari for the prevailing peace in Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State in general.
