The All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara State Chapter has suspended its State Secretary, Alhaji Mustapha Salman Isowo, over allegations of gross misconduct and fraud.
The decision followed the vote of no confidence reportedly passed on him by the executive of his political Ward, Alanamu Central, on February 12th, 2023 where he was subsequently suspended.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Alanamu Central Ward Chairman, Alhaji Muyideen Ikolaba, Secretary, Rafiu Onigbegi and other executive members, in which a copy was made available to the pressmen in Ilorin.
The statement read: “There have been a series of protests against the personality of Alhaji Mustapha Salman Isowo, in Alanamu central Ward over how he has been diverting monthly allowance, palliative items and other funds meant for the Alanamu Central party members.
“The suspended secretary, also compiled and submitted the names of 25 persons per pooling unit for KWASSIP empowerment using his influence as executive of the party at the state level without recourse to the Ward executives.
“Other offences are frequent dropping of our peace-loving governor’s name to advance his selfish and greedy agenda.
“Rather than the suspended secretary, as a member of the party in a ward and state secretary to use his office to unite and assist the Ward, he instead use his undue influence to intimidate and direct the local government party chairman to collect all the benefit due to the ward.
“It must be emphasised that the entire members of Alanamu ward are completely loyal to our party APC under the able leadership of prince Sunday Fagbemi and our performing governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“The actions of the suspended state secretary are inimical to the expected benefits of the entire members of the ward that the state governor is trying to ameliorate.
“Consequent upon all these, and in accordance with our party constitution article 21 (a) paragraph 2 we hereby suspend Alhaji Mustapha Salman Isowo.
“He is hereby directed to refund all the money and materials he has collected on behalf of the Alanamu Central Ward within Seven days and to tender an unreserved apology to the Ward, otherwise further punitive measures will be taken against him.” the statement said.
