People of Kankatu/Okelele community in Ilorin East local government area of kwara state has expressed their appreciation to a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) operating under the aegis of Tajudeen Olesin Foundation for repairing one of the major access road in their community
The road which link Kankantu/Okelele to Akerebeiata communities has been in a bad condition for a while before it caught attention of a founder of the foundation, Mallam Tajudeen Ibrahim Olesin and ordered the sand filling and grading of the road for the convenience of the users.
Speaking to the Journalists at the flagging off of the road work at Kankatu area in Ilorin, the state capital, Olesin said “repairing of a community road like this is one of the many community intervention projects we had embarked on in the past as a foundation with passion for community services and human capital development”
“If not for the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic that disrupt schools calendar generally, we would have been celebrating our annual free summer lesson by now being the month of August, where we do give free education materials to all students and scholarship to best 24 students from Junior to Senior secondary classes, apart from other support to the vulnerable people in the state”
He, however said that, he is not out to compete with any individual or government but to contribute his own quota to the community, state and humanity.
Speaking on behalf of the Kankatu/Okelele community, Alhaji Nurudeen Ajimati who is also the chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Ibagun ward, appreciate Mallam Tajudeen and all the team of his foundation for their immeasurable contributions to the communities and Ilorin East as a whole and prayed to Allah to continue his mercies on him.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Ajimati also appealed to the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and all the political office holders from the community to assist them to complete the road in a standard way.
