The First Lady of Kwara State and Secretary, Nigerian Governors Wives Forum joined her counterparts from other States at the Nigerian Governors Wives Forum 2nd Annual Conference with the theme: ‘Political Will and GBV Responses: An Interactive Forum with Governors and First Ladies’, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The event was part of the activities to commemorate the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence by engaging the State Governors on the need to initiate and implement policies and laws in various states of the federation towards pursuing justice and finding a lasting solution to all gender-based and socioeconomic issues across the country.
Ambassador, Dr. Abdulrazaq in her closing remarks On behalf of Nigerian Governors Wives Forum thanked and commended the First Lady of Nigeria and Matron of the Forum Her Excellency Dr Aisha Buhari for leading this cause and for supporting the development of women at all times.
Speaking further, the Nigeria Governors’ Wives Forum Secretary on behalf of the Forum Ambassador Dr Olufolake Abdulrazaq said the conference presents critical opportunities to take stock of the progress yet achieved, review challenges and prospects, and chart ambitious new ways forward.
Ambassador Abdulrazaq added that she is convinced that today’s convergence would positively improve the capacity of our interventions in stemming gender based violence in our respective states and improve the living standard of the Nigerian woman, girl and indigents at large.
The event was followed by an exhibition tour to various States exhibition stands at the venue of the event by the First Lady of Nigeria, HE, Dr. Aisha Buhari and Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi respectively.
