Kwara State literally moved to Abuja last Saturday as Dignitories from the State of Harmony stormed the Federal Capital City to witness the wedding ceremony of Barrister Timilehin Aderonke and Dr. Oladayo Oluwaseun Olayonu.
Timilehin is the daughter of Kwara’s celebrated Education Czar and philanthropist, Engr. Dr. Johnson Bamidele Adewumi. The glamorous event took place at B.M.O.Events Arena, Abuja.
Adewumi, Asiwaju of Oko Irese, Kwara State , a renowned engineer and a prominent national figure, is also the Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete and Chancellor/Founder, Thomas Adewumi University, Oko Irese, Kwara State.
Leading Kwara’s Celebrity team was the Governor, HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON who was represented by the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Hon. Danladi.

The prominent guests included the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Abdullateef Fagbemi, SAN, who attended both the Church Service and the Reception; the Deputy Senate Leader, Senator Oyelola Ashiru; the Chairman, Senate Committee on Trade and Investments, Senator Sadiq Umar; former Minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Bio; retired Security Chief, Alhaji Kola Adesina; the member representing North Central on the board of TETFUND, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi and the member representing Nigeria and Africa on the Executive Board of the International Press Institute ( IPI) and Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom, Oloye Raheem Adedoyin and the former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Barr. Gbenga Makanjuola and his successor in the Green Chamber, Hon. Danladi Olayonu.
In the Governor’s entourage were members of Kwara state House of Assembly and members of Kwara State Executive Council. They included the Deputy Speaker , Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olayiwola Ojo; the Chief Whip, Hon. Ganiyu Gabriel Abolarin; the member representing Irepodun local Government in the House , Hon. Shola Odetundun; the Commissioner for Communication, Kwara State, Hon. Mrs Bolanle Olukoju and her counterpart in Budget and Planning, Dr. Mrs Mary Arinde and her husband, Dr. Williams Arinde.

A strong delegation from KWASU was led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairnan of the Governing Council, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, OON, included the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shayyk-Lukman Jimoh, the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo Silees and Council member, Prof. Ibrahim Jawondo.
Expectedly, Thomas Adewumi University showed class at the event with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo at the head of a colourful delegation that included the registrar, Mr Kolawole Fisoye.
Representing Royalty were HRM Oba Joshua Olutade, the Oniwo of Iwo, Kwara State, the Oloko of Oko Irese, HRH Oba Victor Olawuyi and Olori Dr. Elizabeth Ajibola who stood in for the Olusin of Ijara Isin, HRH Oba Ademola Julius Ajibola.
The Church service was held at ECWA Central Area, Abuja while the traditional marriage took place earlier on April 10 at Nuhu Musa Hall, Community Staff School, Asokoro, Abuja.
