Eminent Nigerians, including the representatives of Kwara State governor on Sunday gathered in Patigi, headquarters of Patigi local government area of Kwara State to attend the fidau prayer for the late founder of Ahman-Pategi University, Hon. Aliyu Ahman- Pategi.
Ahman- Pategi who represented the Patigi constituency for 12 years in the House of Representatives died on Thursday at the age of 59 and was buried on Friday in his home town- Patigi.
The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq was represented at the fidau prayer by the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.
Other dignitaries at the event included the former governor of the state, Alh Abdulfatah Ahmed, the chairman of the Alliance For Sustainable Kwara (ASK ), Alh Razaq Lawal, former head of Service, Alh Mohammed Dabarako, Sen. Baba Zuruq, and Alh Shuaibu Manko
Others are the senior adviser/ counselor to the state governor, Alh Saadu Salahu, special adviser on Special Duties, Alh AbdulRazaq Jiddah, senior special assistant on Religion (Islam), Alh Ibrahim Danmaigoro, Non- executive director of NNPCL, Dr Ghali Alaya , chairman, Teaching Service Commission, Alh Abdullahi Bello,bursar, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Alh Mohammed Baba and Chairmen of Edu, Patigi and Kaiama
local government areas.
The chief Imam of Patigi, Mal. Mohammed Abubakar, who led the prayer eulogized the virtues of the late Aliyu Ahman- Pategi.
He described the deceased as a kindhearted and community spirited individual.
Imam Abubakar enjoined public office holders in the state to emulate the exemplary conduct of Aliyu Ahman-Pategi by remembering the poor masses and giving back to their communities.
