Kwara Governor Pledges Support For Ilorin Central Juma’at Mosque

The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Friday pledged his support for the maintenance of the multi- billion naira ultral- modern Ilorin Central Juma’at Mosque.

AbdulRazaq made the pledge at the annual Maulid Nabiyy organised by the committee overseeing the affairs of the Ilorin Central Juma’at Mosque.

The programme was held inside the mosque shortly before the commencement of the Juma’at prayer.

Represented by the secretary to the state government, Alh Mahe AbdulKadir, the governor acknowledged the need for the regular maintenance of the edifice and the facilities therein.

Describing the mosque as a pride of all Muslims across the globe, AbdulRazaq said: It’s important to maintain the facilities and the beauty of this World class Ilorin Central Juma’at mosque. The mosque is a pride of all Muslims across the globe. And I’m assuring the Ilorin Muslim Community of the commitment of our administration to it’s maintenance. Apart from corporate support, we shall also give our support as individuals.

The secretary of the Board of Trustees of Ilorin Central Juma’at Mosque, Alh Shehu AbdulGafar, said among other things,the mosque needed new praying rugs.

He also said that the mosque needed the government’s assistance in the provision of regular water supply.

AbdulGafar who thanked the state governor, AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq and other eminent personalities for their support so far for the mosque, appealed to them to do more as the the routine maintenance of the mosque gulps millions of naira.
