Kwara Governor’s Aides Applaud ASK Initiatives, Programmmes

Two key senior officials of Kwara State government, the chief of staff, Alh Mahe AbdulKadir, senior adviser/ counselor, Alh Saadu Salahu, have endorsed the programmmes and activities of a leading pressure group, Alliance For Sustainable Kwara (ASK).

AbdulKadir and Salahu made the endorsement on Wednesday when the chairman of ASK, Malam Razaq Lawal led other members of the association to the Government House, Ilorin on a courtesy visit.

The chief of staff said he was excited that those in ASK, ” are people that will add value to government.”

He added: ” The calibre of the people who are members of this group gladdens my heart. The calibre of people here shows the seriousness of the association. Your programmes are in tandem with the policy direction of the state government. You are ready to go places.”

He recalled how helpful the chairman of the group, Malam Razaq Lawal was to the people when he served in the administration of the late Governor Mohammed Lawal.

” We note your requests. You can count on the support of the government. Don’t relent, we are ready to support you. Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has a lot of programmes for Kwara. He’s desirous of bequeathing a legacy worthy of emulation by all to the state,” the chief of staff added.

The senior adviser/ counselor, Alh Saadu Salahu, also praised the members of ASK for their well- thought out programmmes.

He corroborated the chief of staff on the preparedness of the state government to work with visionary groups like ASK.

Earlier, the chairman of ASK, Malam Razaq Lawal, had commended the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his giant strides in infrastructural development, people’s welfare, women’s empowerment and youth inclusiveness.

He added that: ” Our dear Kwara State never had it so good! Indeed, His Excellency and his team have made us proud as stakeholders and Kwarans. Thank you for a job well done . May Allah continue to guide and guard you.”

He said ASK was formed by people of likeminds as a pressure group that will be advising the state government on how to move the state forward.

” We have gathered these people to continually sensitise the general populace about government’s activities through a community outreach scheme.

” We also have plan to engage in empowerment programmes for our members at the local government and ward levels across the state, and gradually extend the gesture to other members of the public,” Lawal added.

He requested the government to carry the association along in it’s numerous social programmes and interventions.
