The Olomu of Omu-Aran and Ologbomona of Igbomina land, Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti, will on Friday, July 22, install a new Iyalode for Omu-Aran community.
She is Alhaja Bolade Owolewa, the mother of Nigeria-American shadow representative of the United States House of Representatives from the District of Columbia, Oye Owolewa.
The head of the Central Planning Committee (CPC), for the installation, Chief Saadu Owolewa, the Eruuku Omu of Omu-Aran, made this known in a statement in Omu-Aran, headquarters of Irepodun local government area of Kwara.
The Iyalode is a high-ranking female chieftain in most of the Yoruba traditional communities and states.
According to the statement, dignitaries from all walks of life both within and outside Nigeria are expected to grace the occasion.
The statement urged guests and well wishers to be seated latest 9:30am at the Palace of Olomu of Omu-Aran, before the arrival of his royal majesty, Oba Adeoti for the event on Friday.
Chief Owolewa also revealed that the Iwuye for the new Iyalode will come up on Sat., July 23, at Ile Owolewa of Igangun Compound, Omu-Aran, beginning from 4:00p.m.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara and the Emir of Kaiama, Alhaji Muazu Sheu Omar, who is the royal father of the day are expected to grace the occasion.
The Chief Eruuku noted that entertainment of guests will take place at Omu-Aran City Hall Complex.
