Kwara Police parade suspected inter-state car thieves, burglars with stolen items

Nigeria Police Force, Kwara State Command on Friday paraded suspected inter-states car thieves and burglars who operate between Kwara and Oyo with stolen items reportedly recovered from them.

Addressing journalist, the state Commissioner of Police, Paul Odama said “acting on an actionable intelligence by operatives of the State’s CID, led to the arrest of one Adeniyi Olalekan ‘m’ of Ogidi Area Ilorin and Abdulraheem Nasiru ‘m’ the two suspects are specialists in house breaking and theft of property of innocent citizens.

“Under interrogation, the suspects confessed to series of house breaking and theft of electronics, vehicles from where parked, motorcycles and other items within Ilorin and Ogbomosho both in Kwara and Oyo States respectively.

“Further investigation led to the recovery of the following exhibits: Three Toyota Sienna Buses, One Toyota Corolla, Four Motorcycles, One Plasma Television, Three Generating sets, Seven Bags containing telephone accessories, Five bags of Semovita and house-breaking tools (one iron cutter and one iron rod).

“Their receiver who also issued them receipt to cover the stolen property by name Friday Ugwu ‘m’ of Apata Area, Eiyenkorin village, Ilorin was also arrested. The suspects would be charge to Court”

In a similar development, the police also parade suspected armed robbers; Abubakar Jimoh aka Abu carrot ‘m’, Abdulwaheed Murtador Olalemikan with one locally fabricated pistol reportedly recovered from them.

CP words “recall that, recently the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, came to Kwara to Commission the newly built new model Police Station in Madi Area of Ilorin giving assurance to the residents of the area and Ilorin metro that, crimes and criminality in that area would soon become a thing of the past.

“In line with that assertion the officers and men attached to the new station on 6/12/2022 at about 1400hrs, while on surveillance patrol of the area spotted the duo of Abubakar Jimoh ‘m’ (aka Abu Carrot) and Murtador Olamilekan ‘m’ on Madi road Gaa-Saka area Ilorin, they were stopped and when search was conducted on their persons, one locally made Revolver Pistol was found in their possession. Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed freely that they were on a mission to operate and robb members of a group by name Ifesowapo Social Club,

“while in a meeting at Madi Road. Investigation further revealed that the first suspect Abubakar Jimoh ‘m a.k.a Abu Carrot has been on the wanted list of the Command having shot and killed a 12years old boy and got the late boy’s pregnant mother seriously injured in Adewole Area about two years ago. The suspects would soon be charged to Court”

The police boss also warned residents of the state against throwing knockout (banger) during the season saying operatives of the command already directed to be on surveillance.
