Kwara State Polytechnic Rector, Dr. Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed has disclosed that as part of his bid to sanitize the system and further enhance the integrity of the institution, the Polytechnic’s Certificates will be henceforth printed from abroad.
This, according to the Rector, will assist in providing lasting solution to the issue of certificate racketeering in the Polytechnic by the fraudulent elements.
The Rector revealed this while speaking with the Polytechnic Information Division crew online. Dr. Jimoh who is on official assignment to London with the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Mr. Kolawole Sheye Akande to finalise the certificate issue with Royal Gold and Apple Direct Limited, the company handling it, disclosed that the certificate which has new features such students picture, matric number, among others will be very difficult to forge.
He added that the company which is working in conjunction with Tall Security Print, London had also assured the Polytechnic that with other hidden features imbedded in the certificate, it will be difficult to forge by fraudulent individuals.
Abdul Jimoh also noted that with this giant step taken by the Management, issue of certificate racketeering will be highly checked.
The first set of the certificates according to the Rector, will be issued to this years graduands of the Polytechnic who have proven to be worthy in both character and learning.
The certificate which is the first of its kind since the inception of the Polytechnic in 1973, will maintain the standard as one of the best in the country.
