The management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin has approved a salary increase for all staff of the institution.
The rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed discloses this to the press crew of the institution on Monday.
Said the gesture is part of his administration’s broader welfare package designed to alleviate the economic challenges faced by the staff and also aimed at complementing the state government’s efforts in making life more bearable for residents of the State.
Dr Muhammed said the management has also provided free medical screening for all the staff to ensure their wellbeing.
He said the salary increment was done in the realisation of the harsh economic situation of the country to cushion its effects and boost the morale of the polytechnic’s staff across the board.
Muhammed, who emphasised the importance of supporting employees both financially and in keeping fit, said, “As the country is facing the economic challenges, it is crucial that the management not only recognise their hard work but also provide tangible support for them.”
“The salary increase which is effective immediately, is expected to provide the much needed relief to staff who have been grappling with rising living costs and inflation,” he stated.
On the medical screening, the rector said that the initiative was aimed at promoting early detection and prevention of health issues and ensuring that staff receive timely medical attention.
