Kwara Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Compt. Aminu Shamsuddin has commended the efforts of the new Comptroller General of Immigration, CG Kemi Nanna Nandap towards revitalising the service.
Comptroller Shamsuddin made the commendation while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin, on Saturday.
“As part of efforts to enhance border security in Nigeria, the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in company of NIS CG commissioned 30 operational vehicles at the Service Headquarters, Abuja.
“During the CG welcome address, she announced a restructuring of the border Corps architecture, to boost the nation’s border security.
“She also emphasized the crucial role of surveillance and patrol in safeguarding national sovereignty and citizen safety, as well as maintaining economic prosperity and facilitating safe migration,” Shamsuddin said.
The State Comptroller wished the CG a successful tenure in office, while hoping that she fulfil all her promise to the service.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commissioning of the 30 operational vehicles at the Service headquarters in Abuja on Friday, March 22, was for border surveillance and patrol.
The CG said the newly acquired vehicles was a tangible effort to enhance the security and integrity of the nation’s borders, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. (NAN)
