Management and staff of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin have expressed their gratitude to the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq over the rice palliative extended to them.
They described the palliative as a philanthropic gesture by the governor.
Speaking on behalf of the Polytechnic community, the rector, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed said that the 180 bags of rice given to the institution put smiles on the faces of the staff just as other numerous palliatives of the state government have brought succor to many residents of the state.
The rector who hailed the free bus rides initiative of the government and N10,000 monthly palliative for state workers and pensioners, added that the rice given to the Polytechnic will also neutralize the effects of subsidy removal on the staff of the institution.
He disclosed that the polytechnic in support of the government efforts had earlier introduced free bus rides for its staff.
Abdul also lauded Governor AbdulRazaq’s efforts on investing in human capital development in order to make the state self-sufficient, boost quality of life and reduce poverty.
He pledged the polytechnic’s continued support for Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration.
The rector said the rice palliative was distributed to the junior staff of the institution who are mostly affected by the subsidy removal.
