The Chairman of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC), Mohammad Baba-Okanla has made known that the certificate of return will be presented to all the elected council Chairmen today, Sunday.
Baba-Okanla disclosed this via statement signed by him and made available to Accurate News Nigeria.
The statement reads in details:
“Following the successful and peaceful conclusion of the Local Government elections in Kwara State, the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) is pleased to announce that the Certificate of Return shall be presented to all duly elected Local Government Chairmen today.
“This presentation marks the official recognition of the winners of the election, affirming their mandate to lead their respective local governments. The ceremony will take place today and is expected to be attended by top government officials, stakeholders, and representatives from various communities across the state.
“The Kwara State Government congratulates all the elected officials and expresses its gratitude to the people of Kwara State for their peaceful participation in the democratic process. The government remains committed to strengthening grassroots governance and promoting development across all local governments.”
The Electoral umpire had earlier on Sunday announced the winners of the Council elections held on Saturday September 21st, 2024, where it declared the rulling All Progresives Congress (APC) winners in all the sixteen (16) Local Government Areas and ne hundred and ninety three (193) counciloraship seats across the state.
