An 84-year-old man has been arrested by the operatives of Edo state police command for allegedly killing his wife, 75.
The Octogenarian reportedly machete his wife with a cutlass in their home for “repeatedly denying him sex”.
The couple is said to have seven children together- five boys and two girls.
The suspect identified as Gabriel Ahuwa was paraded among 198 other suspects arrested for kidnapping, cultists and murder by police operatives.
The State Police spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, said the Octogenarian is not remorseful, adding that “he (suspect) felt what he has done is the best solution to his problem.
In an interview with journalists, the suspect said: “anything I asked her to come and sleep with me she always decline. I reported the matter to my family and her family, but she didn’t listen to them.
“Each time I demanded for sex, either she would tell me she sick or she has ulcer. Yet I am hearing rumour that she is sleeping with other men and I don’t have money to carry prostitutes.
“So on Saturday last week in the afternoon in the house, I pick up a cutlass and machete her all over her body. I did it in anger because she is not obeying me and I want people to know of it”, he added. (Blueprint)
