Many Gains of Prof Abubakar Sulaiman’s Community Intervention

    Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, the Director General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has been a trailblazer and committed advocate of community development. His passion for community development is worth of emulation. The Professor of International Relations while fulfilling his mandate at NILDS is also complementing efforts of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in Kwara State.

    Prof Sulaiman who is an academic of repute has been supporting the unprivileged persons in the society through educational support initiatives ranging from free JAMB registration and others. He has helped children of the less privileged to achieve their goals and achieve greatness in life.

    Apart from that, the former Minister of Planning in Nigeria last year introduced #Farm2feed program to support farmers as well as encourage young people to embrace farming. This initiative aimed at complementing efforts of federal government’s renewed hope for food security under President Bola Tinubu and drive to boost the sector by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

    Through the initiative, the Ilorin born Professor provided financial support to 300 farmers in across Kwara State with N100,000 for each farmer.

    The Farm2Feed launched under the Kwara Renaissance Group (KWRG) initially aimed to provide farmers with access to tractors, which has already benefited 58 people. His support for farmers contributed to bumper harvest leading in the state, thereby reducing food prices and enhancing food security.

    Beyond Agricultural, Prof Sulaiman is also investing in sports with the view of using grassroots football tournament to create platform for young players to showcase their skills.

    While speaking at final of two month-long Amana Football Competition, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman, commended the efforts of the participating teams and expressed his commitment to making the championship an annual event to foster youth engagement through sports.

    His words: “This competition showcases the talent and potential within our communities. I am dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote sports and create opportunities for young people. The governor’s investments in sports infrastructure are inspiring, and I pledge to build on these efforts to advance various sporting activities.”

    Similarly, Prof Sulaiman supported Sardauna Football Tournament for 16 local government areas in Kwara State was organised to honor Governmelir Abdulrazaq

    It’s cheering to note that the Director General of NILDS has facilitated federal government jobs for many Kwarans in order to create sustainable means of livelihood for beneficiaries.

    Professor Abubakar Sulaiman has been consistent in impacting community and Kwara State at large through different initiatives and he deserves accolades.
