The Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation has donated the sum of six hundred thousand naira N600,000 to support people living with disability in Offa and Oyun Local Government areas of Kwara state.
The Foundation’s General Coordinator for Offa local government, Mr Moshood Tewogbola, disclosed this in an interview with the newsmen in Offa on Friday while speaking on the recent Humanitarian activities of the organisation.
He said the Foundation’s largesse was in commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities held on Saturday December 9.
“On December 9, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we at MOK Foundation made a donation of N600,000 to the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) in Offa and Oyun Kwara State chapter.
“This donation builds on our previous support of #300,000 for persons with disabilities in Offa and Oyun local governments on November 18 and another #300,000 given to them that day being a day dedicated globally to celebrate the people with disabilities which summed up to #600,000.
“We are committed to empowering this marginalized community.
“Our founder, Mr Muhydeen Okunlola, was represented at the donation ceremony by myself and others. The event took place at the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) Hall” Tewogbola said.
He explained that community solidarity is vital to support organizations like JONAPWD that advocate for the rights of disabled individuals.
