Monarch lauds World Bank, Kwara gov., over upgrading, provision of equipment to Adanla-Irese healthcare center

The traditional ruler of Adanla-Irese Community of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara South Senatorial District, His Royal Highness, Oba (Dr) David Oyerinola Adedunmoye, has lauded the State governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq and World Bank for upgrading and provision of medical equipment to their healthcare center.

The monarch expressed appreciation while speaking with a reporter of Albarka FM about the development witnessed by the community after an initial report on challenges facing the community in the area of infrastructure done by the Radio station.

We could recall that the Albarka FM had earlier visited the community as part of its programme tagged ‘Good governance and accountability (Ikakoyawo Ijoba Rere Fun Ara’Lu) sponsored by MacArthur Foundation in Collaboration with Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism, which always aired every Thursday between 11 am to 12 pm where some residents lament over the deplorable state of infrastructure in the community.

Confirming the intervention of the state government collaboration with the World Bank on their health center, Oba (Dr) David said a sum of N4.6m was donated towards the renovation and provision of equipment to Adanla Irese healthcare center by the World Bank in collaboration with the state government.

The monarch added that the cheque of the sum was presented to the community by governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq at a well-attended ceremony held at the community, said the sum was later paid into a designated account.

Added that the announcement of the upgrading of the clinic from health post to primary healthcare center was made at the venue of the presentation of the cheque in Adanla.
