Morocco make history, defeat Spain to reach their first World Cup quarterfinals

Morocco stunned Spain to reach the historical World Cup quarterfinals with right-back Achraf Hakimi scoring the decisive spot kick in a penalty shootout following a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes of open play.

The penalty shootout then saw the Lions showing class with goalkeeper Bono recording a hat trick of saves before Madrid-born Archaf Hakimi punished Spain with the winning penalty kick.

Morocco will now face Portugal in the quarterfinal.
