The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) and the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) say they are exploring areas of partnership to boost Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Dr Aminu Mohammed, Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB announced this through a statement by Mr Uchechukwu Olisah, Assistant Director, Media and Protocol of the board based in Benin on Wednesday.

Dr Muhammed was quoted as saying the agreement was reached when the Chairman of the bank, Alhaji Nasir Gawuna visited Mohammed at the board’s annex office in Abuja.

Describing the meeting as “a great development,” the NABTEB boss said the agreement underscored growing inter-agency efforts to align technical education with Nigeria’s broader socio-economic development goals.

According to him, NABTEB will continue to play a key role in the assessment, certification and promotion of technical and vocational education in Nigeria.

He said the role was aimed at enhancing national productivity.

According to him, Gawuna, a seasoned public administrator and a former deputy governor of Kano State, has been instrumental in various developmental initiatives in Kano State and at the federal level.

Speaking earlier, Alhaji Gawuna was said to have commended NABTEB for its continued efforts in promoting vocational and technical skills across the country.(NAN)
