A new born baby was found abandoned at the dump site in the early hours of Friday 6th of August, in Dokoyirigi area of Patigi, Patigi local government area of Kwara State.
According to the spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC Kwara command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi who disclosed the incident said the baby was found in Dokoyirigi Compound,, Patigi in Patigi local government area of the State.
“in the early hours of Friday, 06/08/2021, one of our officers at the Patigi Divisional Office, who was on her way to office discovered an unidentified baby girl that was later discovered to be a day old. The baby was left in a stinking dump site located around Dokoyirigi area of the town”. Babawale narrated.
He disclosed further that the baby, who was already becoming unconscious was later taken to the general hospital in Patigi where she was promptly attended to and her medical condition was stabilised.
Added that “efforts are ongoing to arrest the wicked soul that left a day old baby in such a dehumanized condition while a staff of the hospital, Tsado Racheal has signified her intention to adopt the baby after all the necesary and proper documentation and actions might have taken place” he said
