The Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, National Assembly, Professor Abubakar Olanrewaju Sulaiman has pledged sustainable support towards youths educational empowerment.
Professor Sulaiman disclosed this at the closing ceremony of the 2024 free summer Lesson held at the Government Day Secondary School Amule Ilorin.
He expressed satisfaction with the general conduct, high standard and full participation of students in the programme across the state.
The Director General NILDS said the overall assessment of the Programme revealed that it had much impact and that the platform advanced the capacities of the participants drawn from the three senatorial districts of kwara state.
The Special Guest of Honour who sponsored the free summer lesson said, the just concluded educational empowerment programme, had earlier received the endorsement of the Executive Governor of Kwara State AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The former Minister of National Planning who said he is committed to empowering the youths educationally vouched for the youths who are leaders of tomorrow.
He thereafter pledged to pay the WAEC fees and get university admission for Abdulmujeeb Saliu of SS3 student Okelele Secondary School Ilorin.
As expected goodwill messages were presented by stakeholders at the closing ceremony of the free Summer Lesson.
The Coordinator of the AMANA Community Intervention Programme, Taofeeq Aribidesi scored the programme very high describing the magnanimity and integrity of the sponsor, Professor Sulaiman as a great buy in responsible for the success of the project.
On their parts, the Kwara State APC Secretary General Alhaji Mustapha Isowo as well as APC candidate for the Council Chairman in the forth coming election, Ilorin West local government Honourable Abdulrahman Shehu Ladan and his counterpart for Ilorin South LG Honourable Nuhu Podo described Professor Abubakar Sulaiman popularly known as Amana as exemplary leader, a genius and a consumate philanthropist.
Highlight of the ceremony included presentations of photo frames to the Special Guest of Honour, Professor Sulaiman by individuals, groups and leaders of Okelele Youth League as well as rendition of poem by Abdulmujeeb Saliu whose impressive delivery earned him a pledge for educational support by professor Sulaiman.
The Free Summer Lesson which had twenty three centers in Kwara Central, Seven in Kwara South and five in Kwara North attracted over twenty thousand students from SS 1 to SS 3 Classes who were paid stipends and received other logistic supports throughout the six weeks duration.
Dignitaries at the grandfinale ceremony of the summer lesson included Alangua Ibagun, Mallam Sakariyau Iyanda, APC stalwart, Lawyer Kunle Sulaiman, Dan Iya Kaima Alhaji Haliru Dantsoho, Former PDP Chieftan Alhaji Toyin Olokooba, Chairman Balogun Gambari Development Association Alhaji Tunde Jamangada, Party supporters Teachers and beneficiaries of the programme.
