NNPP candidate Yusuf defeats Ganduje’s deputy to win Kano governorship election

Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Abba Yusuf has been declared winner of the 2023 governorship election in Kano State.

The NNPP candidate backed by former Kano State Governor and presidential candidate of the party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, defeated Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to second place.

Ganuwa is the current deputy governor of the state.

Declaring the results of the election, Kano State Returning Officer, Ahmad Dokko Ibrahim, said that Yusuf won the election with 1,019,602 votes, while Gawuna got 890,705 votes.
