NSCDC Boss Charges Corps on Knowledge, As ITPA Organizes Computer Training for Officers

As the whole world is fast becoming a global village where information technology has become essential and relevant skills in all professions, appeal has gone to the officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC to equip themselves with all security related IT knowledge that will make them to carry out their duties with efficiency and professionalism.

The NSCDC Commandant in Kwara State, Makinde Iskil Ayinla made the appeal today Thursday during the graduation ceremony of the officers of NSCDC and that of the Kwara State Transport Management Agency ( KWATMA) who had undergone three weeks training on IT proficiency for security agencies packaged by the Information Technology Professional
Association( ITPA), Kwara State chapter in conjunction with Kwara State Computer Association( KWASCA).

In his address, president of the ITPA, Engr. Opakunle Ridwan Ayinde disclosed that the computer training was part of the ITPA’s corporate social responsibility and their quest to extend genuine IT skills to all sectors of government agencies thereby giving back to the society.

“This in house training is part of the ITPA’s design frame work for youth empowerment and impartation of IT knowledge through corporate social responsibility and we are leveraging on our human resources to extend genuine IT skills to all sectors of government parastaters” The ITPA president explained”

The president stated further that organizing the IT empowerment has not been easy but their quest to give back to the society and bringing IT knowledge closer to the people has kept them going thereby appealing to the government, well meaning individuals and corporate organizations to partner with them.

According to the NSCDC spokesman in the State Babawale Zaid Afolabi, during the three weeks programme, officers were well taught in data base management, networking and window security policy.
