NSCDC Nab 2 For Spending Fake Money In Kwara, As Suspects Reportedly Got Currency At Gurumaraji Temple

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence corps (NSCDC), patigi division kwara state command has arrested two people Nicholas Kelechi ‘m’ 25 years and Benjamin Moore ‘m’ 42 years for spending fake money at open market in Patigi, Kwara state.

According to the statement from the spokesperson of NSCDC, kwara command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi said “They were arrested at exactly 1815hrs on Friday at Yagba market in Patigi local government area of kwara state for spending fake money”

Benjamine Moore alleged ring leader said to hail from Ebonyi state but reside in iseyin. He is currently running two homes, having a wife in iseyin with five children and another in Enugun with four children”

“He confessed that a man he met at lokoja introduced him to the business. He took him to Gurumaraji Temple at ibadan to collect the fake money, using two hundred naira (#200) real note to collect one thousand naira (#1000) fake money. They decided to operate in far places like yagba market in kwara where they can’t be easily traced. He also confessed this will be his first attempt.
The two suspects are now at the state NSCDC headquarters for further investigation” the statement stated.
