The operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, have nabbed six suspects, alongside two trucks fully loaded with Railway Slippers at Oloru in the Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The State Commandant, Umar J G Mohammed, while parading the suspects on Wednesday, stated that “they were apprehended at Oloru by the personnel who were on night patrol”.

The six suspects, according to the Command’s spokesman, SC Ayeni Olasunkanmi, are Yunusa Bello (41), Sanni Taminu (35), Sanusi Lawal (25), Alhaji Makeri (33), Lukman Sanni (32), and Olabode Johnson (41).

Commandant Umar has, therefore, sent a strong warning to those who engage in vandalising National critical assets and Infrastructure to desist or face the consequences, saying the Command would not tolerate any act of vandalization in the state.

The Commandant also paraded another suspect, Babatunde Adekunle (41), who was allegedly arrested for ATM fraud, adding that he was alleged to have fraudulently swapped his ATM card with that of an old man at one of the ATM points in a bank, and allegedly used the old man’s card to withdraw the sum of N1.8m from the account.

He said: “The case was reported, and the Commandant mandated the tracking unit to arrest him within the shortest time.”

Meanwhile, the Commandant lauded the state government, traditional rulers and the people of Kwara state for their support and cooperation, assuring them that the Command would continue to work with other sister agencies so as to ensure the safety of lives and property of all and sundry.
