NSCDC Rescue Two From Lynching by Angry Mob in Ilorin

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) today, Monday rescued two people from lynching by angry mob at Challenge area in Ilorin, kwara state capital.

The two young guys were reportedly said to be phone snatcher and they were caught while trying to steal a phone belonging to their fellow passenger in a public bus.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of the NSCDC, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, said “the duo of Yusuf Aboderin 32 and Mustapha Fatai 28 made a futile attempt to steal a phone belonging to one Olatunji Akibu who boarded same mini bus locally known as Korope with them from Oja to Olunlade”

“Luck ran out of the two as they attempt to steal the phone of the complainant who raised alarm which attracted the passers by and resulted in the beating of the two suspects before the timely arrival of our patrol team who rescued them from the irate mob” Babawale narrated.

He, explained further that the two suspects who claimed to be surveyor and bricklayer respectively have confessed to have made attempt to steal the phone but blamed it on the handwork of the devil.

He, however said that the state Commandant of NSCDC, Iskilu Ayinla Makinde has ordered full investigations after which the suspects will be charged to court.
