NURTW, RTEAN Laud KWSG’s Initiative To Uplift Transport Sector

The duo of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) have lauded the Kwara State Government for supporting the transportation sector in the state.

The two unions expressed the appreciation through their state chairmen, Alhaji AbdulRahman Olayinka Onikijipa and Alhaji AbdulRasaq AbdulKareem Ariwoola, in Ilorin over the weekend, during an inspection of 50 mini buses, facilitated by the state government to support the sector in the state.

“We appreciated Governor AbdulRazaq led administration for its various support to our members and more importantly on these mini buses, facilitated by his administration through the office of the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) of Community Intervention.

“We will make sure that all the terms and conditions signed in the agreement of this initiative are fulfilled to encourage the government to do more.

The unions also shower a special encomium on the SSA, Kayode Oyin Zubair, saying he had been a good ambassador of the present administration and proven to be a core community person.

Speaking on the scheme, the SSA said it was in fulfilment of the present administration desire to make impact in all sectors in the state and ways of creating job opportunities for the people.

“With the full permission of His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, I use the virtue of my office and sought support of the private sectors to elevate the economic well-being of our people through various initiatives.

“In 2020, we got the Aliko Dangote Foundation fund for sixteen thousand women at ten thousand naira per person. The money was shared with venerable women across the 16 local government area in the state.

“My office has able to executes some community projects worth N500 million across the state since inception on this administration.

“100 units of tricycles worth 92 million, Aliko Dangote foundation fund worth 160 million and 50 mini buses worth 120 million with other micro-projects like milk plant in Ajase-Ipo, food beverages in Igbaja and TVS plant in Offa.

“The milk plant has three thousand capacity of stainless steel tanks and there are quality control officers who collected the cow milk and transport it straight to WAMCO in Lagos, through the effort of community intervention by the State Government,” he said.

Oyin Zubair thanked Governor AbdulRhaman AbdulRazaq for giving the opportunity to serve Kwarans better through his office as Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Community Intervention.
