Over 200 indigent children in Ogun State will undergo a free medical surgery.
The Chief Medical Director, Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, Sagamu, Dr. Oluwabunmi Fatungase announced this at the kick-off of the medical outreach held at the teaching hospital.
She explained that children with medical cases such as Hernia and Hydrocele, Undescended Testes, Hypospadias, Hirshsprung disease, Anorectal malformations as well as Lumps and Swelling would be given free surgery.
Dr Fatungase said the programme would reduce medical tourism and give the less privileged the opportunity to be treated and operated upon free of charge.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker who said that free paediatric surgery expedition was organized by the state government in collaboration with a United Kingdom Children’s Hospital, stressed that target of the exercise was about two hundred and fifty indigent children.
Declaring the programme open, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun said his administration would continue to provide quality health care for the benefit of the people of the state.(FRCN)
