Your Excellency sir, without much adore, I have to speak the mind of Kwarans and more than half of our party men and women-Peoples Democratic party (PDP) in Kwara state. It is with my utmost respect to write you through this medium knowing fully well that booking an appointment with you to discuss this may not be visible due to your busy schedules. I want you to take and treat this write-up very seriously like your last breath.
Today, you are seeking to contest at the Presidential Primaries to represent this party at the National level which is a 50-50 worth of cards. A win win situation. Uncertainty victory for all the aspirants devoid of sentiments of who is qualified. But as hard as it is for all the presidential aspirants to have tour every part of this Country, and suddenly an angel emerged at the Presidential Primaries who has never done half of your deeds to clinch the ticket, how would you feel your Excellency sir?
Your Excellency sir this is the case of Kwara PDP today. Alot of people had laboured, fasted, and invested heavily in the last 3years to reposition the party across the State. Since 2019 we lost at the polls, I’m aware of some members of this party who declared their intention to recontest 2023 election and in that premixed become more dedicated to this party for the success of all. Some of these aspirants will make it and some will not make it at this time. This is not a problem as in every game, there will always be a winner and a loser but the losers will have a preference that if they must lose, it has to be on a good ground to support who has emerged. But not losing as a result of unfair decisions.
Your Excellency sir, winning elections is not a one man’s efforts but the efforts of all. If the majority are not happy, there is no way an election can be won Never. Your Excellency sir, this piece is not about anything but an advice to you that we avoid losing 2023 elections.
In Kwara of today, people will vote personalities and not party incase you dont know. This is happening globally and across Nigeria. If the right decisions are not make, then the reverse of those decisions will be a lost glory. Your Excellency sir, I must state here in a categorical term that if PDP in Kwara hand over a gubernatorial ticket to a new comer to fly the 2023 party’s ticket,without any reservations we would lose this coming elections. This is an open talks across the state especially from our brothers who are Kwara Northerners.
Your Excellency sir, since the micro-zoning of the Guber ticket to Nupe axis, the only consolations for every members of the party who had supported the other side of the constituency and couldn’t get it is to see an old face of the party clinching it. If you make mistakes of the past to give guber ticket to someone who just joined the party about three months ago, forget that they signed agreement of anyone who emerges will be supported. That agreement is not real in the heart. It is not real in the face of justice. It is not real in fairness. We must not make that mistake before we all sink our hands in a red oil which will be too late to redress.
Finally, there are already rumours out there how some elements are trying hard to convince you to support their own aspirant to emerge. These elements are not even open to the party in the public as members of our party. This assertion may look like a mirage but it is the truth in the public. The PDP families are closely monitoring the whole process and If that happen, members of the party will never work for a man who doesnt have structures than to use the structures of the people who had laboured for years and months and not one of them is considered. Your Excellency sir, 2023 elections is not a one man structure that will secure us the winning. There are small small structures attached to some party men that will aid your larger structures to win 2023 elections. You must consider all feelers and every members of this party. My advice!
