Organized labour holds debate for Kwara guber candidates, Wednesday

All is set for the gubernatorial candidates’ debate of the Joint Kwara Labour Congress holding in Ilorin, the state capital.

The event will hold on Wednesday January 25, 2023 at the Main Hall of the state wing of Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) along Asa-Dam Road, Ilorin at 9am.

This was contained in a joint statement issued by the state Chairmen, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Aliyu Issa Ore, his Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Tunde Joseph as well as the Chairman, Gubernatorial Debate Planning Committee, Comrade Victoria Agboola.

The statement said the essence of the debate is to engage the candidates on their level of preparedness and how they intend to govern Kwara differently if given the opportunity in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

It added that the state joint labour congress was committed to ensuring that the candidates prioritize the welfare of workers in their manifestos.

The statement assured that credible individuals, who have and still making their marks in their respective callings have been selected as panelists for the debate.

It urged workers in both formal and informal sectors to troop out en mass and attend the event as scheduled.
