The Chairman, Isokan South Local Council Development Area of Osun State, Prince Wasiu Oyetunji Oyelami, has described the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the Saturday’s gubernatorial primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state as well-deserved.
Prince Oyetunji made this known in his congratulatory message to Mr. Governor on Monday.
He said he was not surprised of Mr Governor’s victory in the primary election as he had worked for it.
According to Prince Wasiu, “For Governor Oyetola to have clinched the ticket to represent the Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming July 2022 gubernatorial election in the state is an indication of people’s believes that “Alhaji Isiaq Adegboyega Oyetola is dependable, considerate, sincere and competent to take Osun State to the promised land. Your victory on Saturday is for everyone of us”.
Governor Oyetola was declared as the winner of the primaries conducted in the state on Saturday where he emerged as winner by polling 222,169.
Mr Governor defeated two other aspirants, former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti who polled 12,921 votes and former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Lasun Yusuf who got 460 votes.
Prince Oyetunji appreciated party members in Isokan South Local Council Development Area for choosing the right candidate to represent the party at the polls come July this year, adding that it is gratifying for them to have decided to give the APC flag to a man who has performed beyond expectations giving the global downward in the economy and the unplanned pandemic that affected the whole World.
The Isokan Council boss congratulated Mr Governor for winning the first stage of the journey into the second term which is the intra-party elections.
Prince Oyelami however urged the entire people of the State to continue to demonstrate their unflinching support for Governor Oyetola.
“Congratulations sir”, the council boss concluded.
