A 26-year-old man, Amachi Paul, has been banished to Ogun state by an Osun state Magistrate’s Court, Osogbo, over N920 theft.
The convict who was sentenced to 15 days in prison was also ordered to leave the state after serving the jail term.
The police prosecutor, Akintunde Jacob, told the court that the convict committed the crime on June 29, at Rano filling station, Osogbo.
The charge sheet read to the convict reads, “That you Amachi Paul, 26, on 29th June 2023 at about 11:20 at Rano filling station, Osogbo did steal cash sum of N920 property of one Adesina Akeem and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34 vol II, law of Osun state, 2002.”
He admitted guilt of the crime pressed against him and urged the court to temper justice with mercy on him.
When asked about his parents, Paul told the court that his parents disowned him after serving a jail term for the offense he committed in Ogun state.
Magistrate Oyindamola Adaramola thereby sentenced him to 15 days in prison and ordered him to leave Osun immediately after his jail term, saying that he must not be seen or brought to the court again. (Blueprint)
