A 26-year-old fraudster from Kogi state, Victor Adaojo, who hacked the Facebook account of popular Wazobia FM veteran broadcaster, Mr Expensive James, has been arrested by the police in Keffi, Nasarawa state.

The suspect was arrested in Keffi Wednesday, August 16, 2023 by a crack team led by Inspector Ruth Joseph of Masaka police station.

Mr. Expensive, a popular broadcaster with Wazobia 95.1 FM in Lagos, has been decrying the hacking of his Facebook account, Expensive Generalbadman, by fraudsters since 2020.

Apart from Expensive, the Facebook account of other Wazobia FM OAPs were also hacked, with the fraudsters defrauding unsuspecting members of the public with the Facebook accounts, thereby tarnishing the images of the OAPs.

However, after complaining to the police, Expensive, who commands a large fan base in Abuja, Lagos and other parts of the country and beyond, especially as a result of his philanthropic activities through his NGO, the Help One Foundation, was assured of intervention, which culminated in the arrest of the suspect.

In his confessional statement, the suspect, Victor Adaojo, who had a cloned account of Expensive’s Facebook page on his phone when arrested, admitted to the act, saying he was contracted by other hackers (who are presently at large) to perpetuate the act because of his ICT skills and Expensive’s growing popularity. He revealed that the veteran broadcaster once offered him a job and accommodation when other employers rejected him as a result of being a chronic stammered.
