Police confirm release of 21 children abducted in Katsina farm

    The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah has confirmed the released of the 21 children who were abducted by terrorists at a farm in Faskari local government area of the State.

    According to Gambo Isah “it is with great joy that I announce the release of all the 21 abducted workers that were kidnapped while working in a farmland at Kamfanin Mai Lafiya village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state. They have been reunited with their families. Investigation is ongoing please, PPRO.

    The release came barely 24 hours when the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Ms Cristian Munduate has demanded immediate release of the 21 children and other persons abducted by terrorists.

    Meanwhile it was not clear whether ransom was paid before the release.

    The 21 children – 17 girls and 4 boys – aged between 15 and 18, were abducted last Sunday at about 12:30 p.m. by bandits.
