Popoola to speak at Kwara NUJ 36th Media Parliament

A House of Representatives’ Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Ifelodun/Oyun/Offa Federal Constituency in the forthcoming general elections, Prince Saheed Olamilekan Popoola, is to feature as Guest Speaker at the 36th edition of Media Parliament of Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

Themed “With Quality Legislative, Social Re-Engineering is Possible, the event will hold on Wednesday February 08, 2023 at NUJ Press Centre, Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin at 2pm.

In a statement issued in Ilorin, the Chairperson and Secretary of Kwara NUJ Media Parliament Committee, Fatimah Rasheed and Babajide Fadeyi respectively said the theme of the event was picked in view of the indispensable place of legislative organ in the transformation of the society for the better.

The statement added that the selection of the two-term honourable member in the Kwara State House of Assembly as the Guest Speaker was predicated on his array of experience in the nation’s politym

It noted that the media parliament would afford the Guest Speaker a forum to interact with top-rated media practitioners with a view to, in turn, informing, enlightening and educating Nigerians as well as bridging the yawning information gap between the legislature known as the face of the people and and members of the public.

The statement urged members of the state council of NUJ to prepare adequately for the event.
