A leading pressure group in Kwara State, Alliance For Sustainable Kwara (ASK) has rejoiced with Muslims all over the World on the commencement of the 1445AH Ramadan fast.

The association particularly rejoiced with Muslims in Kwara State for witnessing this year’s Ramadan.

The group in a Ramadan message issued by its chairman, Malam Razaq Lawal, described Ramadan as a period when the Muslim faithful are more devoted to righteous acts, sacrifice, benevolence and above all move closer to Allah.

The ASK, therefore, enjoined the fasting Muslims to use the period of the holy month to pray for the restoration of peace and economic buoyance in the country.

While charging the nation’s leaders across board to do more in ameliorating the sufferings of the masses by mitigating the prevailing high cost of living, ASK urged the citizens to continue to support their leaders with prayers.

At the home front, the association applauded efforts by Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration to put smiles on the faces of Kwarans.

It hailed the governor’s approval for the payment of arrears of salary owed to the teachers of basic education by the past administration, the bursary award to students of Kwara origin in tertiary institutions across the country, and the promotion of TESCOM teachers.

“Of important note is the constitution of a committee to see to the food security in the state. The decision of Governor AbdulRazaq to chair this all-important committee shows the seriousness the governor attaches to food security in the state,” ASK added.

It, therefore, sought the continued support of the people of the state for the AbdulRazaq’s administraton.
