There are indications that Oladapo Olabanji, popularly called “D’Banj” is currently passing through a trying times of his life and career, following the allegation of rape levelled against him by one Seyitan Babatayo.
You could recalled that The Accurate News online had earlier reported the case where we confirmed that above 15,000 people had signed the online petition, initiated by E.Pooola of Change.Org,
calling for the probe of the allegations by the appropriate authority, in which the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu had ordered the probe already.
The latest person to expressed his views about the matter, publicly is professional colleague of D’Banj, Mr. Bankole Wellington, known as “Banky W” as stage name.
Banky W in various tweets via his Twitter handle said;
“The news lately has been so hard to read, but we must never support the oppressing or silencing of victims by the Police”
”If Dbanj truly was being falsely accused, then a ‘defamation of character’ lawsuit was the right move, but that is where it should have stopped.”
“Whether it was overzealous police officers/D’banj/his handlers that orchestrated it, locking Seyitan and/or her Mom in jail, seizing her phone, preventing her from reaching her lawyers/family etc is completely wrong and I hope D’banj will denounce it himself.“
D’Banj, had reported to had made official report to the police and also involved his lawyers. However, there is allegations that the singer have been using the Police to intimidate the alleged victim.
Meanwhile, yet to be confirmed report said that Heritage Bank had suspended its deals with D’Banj as their brand ambassador, following how messy the case is going.
