The residents of Mubo Community in Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State have appealed to the Kwara state Government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq over what they called the disastrous condition of their road caused by torrential downpours.
A resident of the Community, who speaks with our Correspondent, Mr. Abdulkadir Sulaiman Secretary, Mubo Community Phase 2 Orisumibare said the community have been deprived of good motorable road for over ten years thereby calling on the state government to come to their aid.
Another resident who identifies herself to be the woman leader of the Community Mrs. Ayo Janet lamented that the community has sent a representative and letter to the government to come to their aid by tarring the road and constructing drainage.
She added that women of Mubo Community phase 2 with the efforts of members of the community contributed some amount of money to fix the bad road but all to no avail hence the appeal.
Also shared his ordeal on the bad condition of the Road in both phases one and two, as reported by Our Staff Correspondent a youth leader of the Community who doesn’t want his voice put on record stressed that the community for the past 10 years has not been enjoying the dividends of democracy despite their contribution to the electoral process and therefore call on the present government to come to their aid in order to stop the havoc and damages caused by the Road.
He added that the past Government of Governor Bukola Saraki inherited by Abdulfatai Ahmed had awarded the construction of both faces One and two of the Road that has been abandoned since the approval.
According to him, the community has written several petitions to Kwara State House of Assembly and relevant agencies on a need to implement and start work on the road.
We had written a lot of petitions to the Kwara state House of Assembly, the Ministry of Works, and other relevant authorities reminding them of the Road construction but all to no avail, Mubo Community is in danger as we speak, He sad”.
