Islamic scholars and technocrats on Saturday paid glowing tributes to the late pioneer national missioner of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, Sheikh AbdulRahman Salah.
Dignitaries that extolled the virtues of Sheikh Salah during the celebration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammed ( Maulid Nabbiy) orgasised by Sheikh AbdulRahman Baba Ile-Ila Institute for Quranic Memorization, Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilorin, included Dr AbdulHamid Olohunoyin, Dr Mohamed Ghali Alaaya, Dr Saudat AbdulBaki and the special adviser to Kwar State governor on Strategy, Alh Saadu Salahu and special assistant on Religion (Islam), Alh Ibrahim Danmaigoro.
The guest lecturer, Dr AbdulHamid Olohunoyin described the late Salah as “one of the liberators in Ilorin who combined Western and Arabic education and was widely known for his exceptional and exemplary leadership.”
He further described the deceased as one of the finest scholars the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria produced.
In his remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Dr Mohamed Ghali Alaaya recalled how the late scholar encouraged the young ones like himself to embrace western education.
Alaaya said that Salah was always ready to assist more people in becoming great scholars during his life time.
Other dignitaries that graced the event include the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Salihu and Alh Ishaq AbdulKareem Funsho.
Imam Salihu led the gathering in offering special prayer for the repose of the soul of the late Sheikh Salah.
