The management of the Kwara State Polytechnic has vowed to penalise any students and workers found not to comply with COVID-19 precautionary measure in the school premises.
This was disclosed through a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the school, Mr. Ajibola Jimoh and made available to the Journalists.
The statement reads in part “ In line with the official directive by the state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the authority of the polytechnic has concluded all necessary arrangements for the reopening of the institution for academic activities by Monday, 12th of October, 2020”
The statement further stressed that “the Polytechnic Committee on COVID-19 had concluded a week long sensitisation programmes for the staffers and similar exercise will be extend to the students with strict warning, rule in line with COVID-19 compliance measure, such as keeping of Physical distance, No hand shaking, No hugging and all students, staffers must always put on their Nose Mask”
The statement, however stated that any student, staff see in the two campuses of the institution not keep to those rule will be arrested and penalise by the school COVID-19 committee.
In addition, the Rector of the institution, Engineer Abdul Jimoh said the management of the school has made available many pedal-hand washing machines in both campuses to be use by both students and staffers and added that pocket size of hand sanitisers will be available in the campuses for sale at affordable prices.
The management also urged the students not to disarrange the chairs and desks in the lecture rooms said it has already arranged in line with physical distance of COVID-19.
