Sheikh Abdulmumeen Hanafi Ayara Conferred with Prestigious Title of Oniwasi Agbaye

Renowned Islamic scholar and reformer, Sheikh Dr. Abdulmumeen Hanafi Ayara, has been officially conferred with the revered title of Oniwasi Agbaye (Global Islamic Reformer), succeeding the late Sheikh Abdulraheem Aminullahi Oniwasi Agbaye.

The pronouncement was made by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Dr. Bashir Soliu, in recognition of Sheikh Ayara’s decades of unwavering commitment to da’wah, scholarship, and leadership in propagating Islam in line with the Qur’an and Sunnah.

In his remarks, the Chief Imam described Sheikh Ayara as “a beacon of truth, a reformer, and a spiritual leader whose dedication to Islamic values has earned him both national and international respect.”

*Also speaking on the development, The Chairman of the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria (AISN), Ilorin Branch, Alhaji Abdulkadir Funsho Abdulkareem, commended the new Oniwasi Agbaye, noting that “Sheikh Ayara has demonstrated sincerity, wisdom, and courage in guiding the Ummah. This title is not only an honour but also a call to greater service in the propagation of Islam.”*

Sheikh Ayara, a distinguished Hanafi scholar and strong advocate of tawheed, has been widely celebrated for his efforts in combating religious innovations, fostering unity, and mentoring the next generation of Islamic scholars and preachers.

The conferment of the Oniwasi Agbaye title is regarded as a global recognition of his immense contributions to Islamic reform, spiritual leadership, and the promotion of authentic Islamic teachings.

Muslim faithful across Nigeria and beyond have extended their congratulations to Sheikh Ayara, praying for his continued health, long life, and impactful service to the Ummah.
