Shuaibu Yaman’s Harum-Scarum statement and the Future of Kwara

Our attention has been drawn to a reckless statement by the Governorship candidate of the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, Shuaibu Yaman, while addressing members of his discredited party in Abuja.

We are constrained to respond to Mr Yaman’s diatribe because of his obvious ignorance of or mischief on the development in our dear State. We are aware that the candidate of the opposition is a Politician who rarely comes home to appreciate the giant strides of the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration in barely three years.

We like to remind Yaman that the terrible mess his party left behind in its 16 inglorious years include dilapidated schools, Collapsed public health care delivery, bad roads, ghost rural areas, unpaid salaries , pensions and gratuities of retirees, demoralized Civil Servants, among others. These are the rots Governor AbdulRazaq is clearing in order to attract investments, create wealth and jobs for indigenes and residents of the state.

Yaman should be informed that creditors to the state did their due diligence before approving the bond given to the state Government and are satisfied with the use of the fund so far for much-desired infrastructural development in the state.
We are not surprised that Yaman brought an already clarified issues of Barbwire contract for the fence of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service( KWIRS). It is insane for anyone to think that barbwire for the fence of KWIRS would cost a whopping 476,300,000 Naira when the actual amount is just 476,300 Naira. That Yaman and his handlers could not pay attention to details of an issue that actually occurred under PDP watch says so much about them and why Kwara went to the dogs under their reign. We call the attention of the public to Yaman’s habit of fumbling with figures, as he again said the barbed wire was done for N450m instead of the figure (N476,300,000) mentioned in the erroneous story he was quoting from. Is it something that should be probed further?

We also want to remind Mr Wannabe that the Local Government case is still before the Supreme Court and has not been adjudicated upon as falsely presented by Yaman.
It is also laughable that Yaman would want the AbdulRazaq’s administration to continue the fraudulent Light up project of his party’s Government when it was obvious that the project was a failure from inception and only a conduit pipe to launder money from the public Treasury.

We sympathize with the opposition’s candidate for his rabid quest for power and his reckless statements in order to achieve his aim but the people of Kwara are more than convinced that the state is in the safe hands of Governor AbdulRazaq and would not go back to the evil and wicked regime of the Peoples Democratic Party who tormented them and looted the public treasury for 16 years.

For the avoidance of doubt, we are in a new Kwara where the People’s money works for the development of the state in an open and transparent manner.
Kwara will not return to an era of looting of public treasury, larceny and reckless conversion of public property for private use as was the case under the PDP government.

The people have chosen the path of progress with the All Progressive Congress led by Governor AbdulRazaq, where their future and that of their children is guaranteed.
