A social media influencer, Baba Idris has withdrew from the Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) gubernatorial primaries coming up today.
Accuratenews gathered that the youthful but energetic Idris withdrew from the gubernatorial race in the interest of cohesiveness of his party.
Following, Idris’s withdrawal from the race, the contest for the PDP’s gubernatorial ticket is now open to only three Aspirants a former member of Revenue and Fiscal Mobilisation Allocation Commission (RMAFC),Alh Shuaib Abdullahi Yamman, a former deputy speaker and Nigeria’s ambassador to Japan, Prof Mohammed Gana Yisa and a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aliyu Ahman-Pategi.
The three aspirants are from Kwara north where the leadership of the PDP in the state had zoned the gubernatorial ticket to.
Confirming his withdrawal from the race to accuratenews, Idris thanked the entire Kwara youth both home and in the diaspora for their overwhelming love and support for his governorship ambition.
He appreciated the immediate past Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki for ensuring youth inclusiveness in the nation’s politics.
Idris also thanked PDP elders in the state for their encouragement and wise counsel.
