A fellow of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Alh Abdullahi Ibrahim, has appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) not to appeal the judgement of National Industrial Court which ordered the striking university teachers to resume work.
Ibrahim who spoke with the Accurate News asked ASUU’s members to comply with court’s as patriotic intellectuals.
He also called the federal government not to withdraw the at the National Industrial Court and order the immediate payment of outstanding salaries of the string university teachers.
Ibrahim posited that alternative dispute resolution mechanism could be employed in resolving the prolong FG/ ASUU crisis.
“The ASUU strike that has turned to national embarrassment was avoidable if both parties had allowed patriotism to play dominant roles in the disagreement,” he added.
He hailed President Muhammadu Buhari’s resolve to do more consultations in resolving the ASUU crisis, pointing out that,” such a firm assurance give a ray of hope that the crisis would soon be put behind us in few days.”
Ibrahim appealed to the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to avoid complicating the issue by making inflammable statements and organising protests that could be hijacked by hoodlums.
