Brain drain: UITH- NANNM urges senator Saliu Mustapha to push nurses friendly bill

The National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) , University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH)- chapter has asked the senator representing Kwara central senatorial district, Mallam Saliu Mustapha to champion a bill that will promote better welfare package to halt the trend of brain drain amongst Nurses.

The association also urged the lawmaker to support the training of youths and ensure they are certified in basic life support skills.

NANNM- UITH chapter chairman, Nurse Ayinla Kazeem, tabled the association’s concerns when he led other executive members on a courtesy call on the senator on Sunday.

Kazeem acknowledged Turaki’s donation to the UITH’s school of Nursing in the recent past and charged him do more for nurses by lending his voice to “nurses’ friendly initiatives and bills” to halt the trend of brain drain Nigeria.

The association also emphasised the need for government at all to support the bill.
